Ekaterina Uvarova is a lutenist and guitarist based in the Netherlands. Originally trained as a classical guitarist with a Master’s Degree, she now specializes in early music and completed her studies in lute, theorbo, and romantic guitar at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague with Mike Fentross and Joachim Held.
She has performed at leading early music festivals including the Utrecht Early Music Festival and Musica Antica, and appears regularly in historic venues and churches across Europe. As a continuo player and soloist, she collaborates with ensembles, choirs, and orchestras, and has performed with Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland, the Hanseatic Ensemble, and Jeune Orchestre Baroque Européen.
Alongside her work in historical performance, she is actively engaged in creating new repertoire for her instruments, bringing a fresh perspective to early plucked strings.
